What We Believe

At FBC Preston, we hold to the truths of the Bible as summarized in the Baptist Faith and Message (2000). Here are the foundations of our faith:

God

We believe in one God who exists eternally in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is holy, loving, and sovereign over all things.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is God’s Word—true, trustworthy, and our ultimate authority for what we believe and how we live.

Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as the sacrifice for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, and now reigns as Lord.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit draws people to Jesus, gives new life, and lives in every believer, empowering us to grow in holiness and serve God’s mission.

Humanity & Salvation

We believe all people are created in God’s image but are separated from Him by sin. Salvation is God’s free gift, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone.

The Church

We believe the Church is the body of Christ, made up of all believers. As a local church, we gather for worship, discipleship, fellowship, and mission, seeking to live out the gospel together.

Baptism & The Lord’s Supper

We believe baptism by immersion is the public testimony of a believer’s faith in Christ. The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience where we remember Jesus’ sacrifice and look forward to His return.

Mission

We believe every follower of Jesus is called to share the good news and serve others, both locally and globally, until Christ returns.
